Welcome to Mahjongg Candy, where the gameplay is simple and the rules are “delicious.” Believe it or not, that’s what the game’s manual says.

Indeed, when you load the game up on Facebook, or in the Gameroom app, you’ll see right away that there’s much in store for you here. Find out what those things are and decide whether you would want to play the game or not.

First off, one of the game’s strong points is its simplicity. By simplicity, it means that the game’s structure is not as complicated as its contemporaries in today’s digital world. You won’t find the level-based mechanic that is common to most Mahjongg games in particular, and in casual games in general. In here, there’s only one level to play in.

So, how does one enjoy this set up?

You might think that there’s only one layout available to you because there’s only one level available. The truth is, the game shuffles between a lot of layouts that have been pre-loaded every time it starts a level. Thus, you won’t have to worry about experiencing repetitions of layouts because that will not happen here in Candy Mahjongg.

As a player, your goal here is to earn the highest score possible in each level… and to beat it in the next. You do this by rapidly pairing up identical tiles so they can be removed from the board. Each quick pairing, or Multi-Match as this feature is called, triggers a score multiplier so that the next pair will bring you a higher score.

There are also score multipliers found within the board itself. You can trigger it by pairing up tiles with “x2,” “X4,” and “X6” printed unto them.

Stacks of Mahjong tiles are multi-layered. This means that some tiles are hidden beneath others on top. You’ll have to free these tiles up before they can be paired with their twins. This means that the ones on top must be eliminated first, so bear that in mind when formulating a strategy in picking out which tiles to pair up.

Likewise, tiles that are between other tiles cannot be paired up as well unless the ones on either side of it are eliminated first.

The game’s AI does keep track of the number of pairs available. Depending on your decisions, the number of matches that can be made changes with every pairing you accomplish. When the number goes down to zero, you’ll have to reshuffle the tiles.

Be careful though – each reshuffle deducts 20 seconds from the time limit that’s available to you.

Running out of time will end the game, and your score will then be calculated. If you manage to finish solving the puzzle before time runs out, you get a time bonus added to your total number of points.
You can then choose to try again and beat your score. While there is no player versus player aspect to this game, like most Mahjong games, you do have your own personal record as a motivation to play further.
